Cat's Individual Presentation
I bought this bench at a yard sale in Queen Ann a number of years ago. It has become my gardening bench and so I thought it was fitting that it was the first entry in my nature journal.
This Lodgepole pine is located at the Longhouse. I sat with it during our first Saturday class.
Oregon Sunshine, Eriophyllum lanatum Chives, Allium schoenoprasum
Comfrey. Located at the Longhouse next to the compost bins
Wild Indigo from the Gifts Garden
Blue Jay feather, decomposing log that is home to moss and lichens and some seed pods that I found in the street by my house.
Western Coltsfoot, Petasites palmatus
Cascara Sagrada, Rhamnus purshiana
This Dogwood tree is located in my yard. It had the most beautiful red leaves during the last two weeks of October. This is my favorite entry.

Mushrooms from the Evergreen woods

Bare stem of a creeping rose
Journaling has been a wonderful experience for me. I had not drawn previous to this class and feel as though I have found a hidden talent and more importantly an activity that makes me feel good while at the same time bringing me closer to nature. I am going to continue to use my journal and am most excited about my trip to Florida next week, where I will be able to capture the beaches and swamps in my nature journal!
